Join us for a hands-on exploration of sgraffito—derived from the Italian word for 'to scratch.' Discover this beautiful carving technique, where you'll create stunning depth and contrast by revealing layers of clay through lines and textures.
This workshop is all about slowing down, working with your hands, and discovering how surface can become a space for drawing. Whether you’re new to ceramics or already working with clay, it’s a chance to try something expressive and a little meditative.

DETAILS
Our instructor will teach you how to use tools to carve beautiful designs through a colored top layer, unveiling the natural clay beneath.
You’ll get to pick your favorite from a variety of handcrafted plates to serve as your canvas. Whether you use our templates or your own custom designs, you’ll be guided every step of the way as you carve your vision into the leather-hard clay.
Once finished, you’ll decide if you’d like your piece clear glazed or left unglazed. We’ll handle the firing for you, and your work will be ready to take home in 4–5 weeks.
